Aug. 12, 2005 - 9/11 Brave Souls
The announcement in the news today of the release of the firefighters' oral histories brings back memories of that awful day almost 4 years ago and the sheer heroism of those involved.
Many of my friends who are Scientology Volunteer Ministers went to New York to help in the wake of that tragedy. They came back with stories of the ordeal the firefighters and rescue workers went through. It is hard to concieve of.
Mr. David Miscavige, the Chairman of the Board of Religious Technology Center recognized the contribution Scientology Volunteer Ministers made in the weeks following the terrorist attacks by presenting several of them with one of the highest honors that can be bestowed upon a Scientologist, the International Association of Scientologists International Freedom Medal.
Mr. Miscavige also promised the Scientologists of New York that in thanks for their incredible work to help New York recover from the disaster they would be given brand new premises. And he came through with his promise (he always does). Last year the Church of Scientology of New York had the grand opening of their newly renovated church, right at Times Square on the crossroads of the world.
