What is High Blood Pressure?
Above
normal blood pressure
is rise in pressure exerted by circulating blood on the present artery
walls as a common response to strain & physical work. The
continuous high blood pressure can exert more strain on your heart.
High blood pressure causes arterial disease, heart attacks and strokes.
Blood Pressure Reading
Doctors measure blood pressure as two values, the systolic
(the
blood pressure when it enters the artery from the heart) and the
diastolic (the pressure when the heart ventricles repose betwixt
beats). It is checked in millimeters of mercury (mm Hg).
Above average Blood Pressure will be defined in a grown-up as a blood pressure
greater than or equal to 140 mm Hg systolic pressure, or greater than
or equal to 90 mm Hg diastolic pressure. Reading of blood pressure
greater than 140/90 is unnatural & determines hypertension.
