AC Milan have hinted they may be interested in signing William Gallas should the defender decide to leave Chelsea this summer.
The France international is under contract with the Premiership champions until June 2007 but may be prepared to leave Stamford Bridge at the end of the season after failing to hold down a regular place in central defence. The Rossoneri are looking for a replacement for Dutch defender Jaap Stam betting, who is returning to Holland this summer with Ajax, and Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has said the 28-year-old Gallas would be welcomed at the San Siro.
"Gallas still has one year left in his contract with his club," he told Gazzetta dello Sport. "All I can say is we like French players because they are able to adapt better to our football than the rest of the Europeans."
