There's a mass volunteer involvement movement underway here in Germany with the FIFA World Cup. It's an interesting read re: how these volunteers will be utilized, what support they will receive, etc. Calls for volunteers for the Beijing Olympics 2008 and London Olympics 2012 are also already underway, for both the main Olympics and the Paralympic games that begin immediately afterwards. And you can read some Torino 2006 volunteer blogs. Wouldn't it be great if FIFA and Olympic volunteers, and those who want to be such but are turned away, could be connected, through organized, formal efforts, to further volunteering opportunities in their home countries?
