I've had the pleasure of presenting online to an audience in Australia about volunteer management while I'm on another continent in May 2008 and December 2008. Now, I get to be in Australia onsite, in-person!
In March 2010, I'll be making my first trip "down under", to lead an intense, onsite retreat in Adelaide Hills, Australia for experienced volunteer managers looking to take their roles to the next level. The focus will be on how volunteer managers can stay relevant "in a world where the challenges facing volunteering are becoming more complex every day" and how "to create volunteering environments in which volunteers can flourish and be most effective."
The retreat is March 17 to 19, 2010. If you are an experienced manager of volunteers in Australia, New Zealand, or anywhere in South East Asia, I promise you this retreat will be worth the trip and your time! Myself and the other presenters/facilitators are organizing an event that's very different from most volunteer management events; we're creating activities that allow us all to walk away with new tools and new perspectives we can begin to implement immediately back at our various organizations. We're all going to learn from each other!
In addition, I'll be conducting trainings around Australia, even making a trip to New Zealand to lead a workshop, both before and after the retreat.
